Bogota, Colombia, August 29, 2013 – Curaçao Technology Exchange (CTEX), together with KPMG Meijburg & Co., the law firm of Van Eps Kunneman and the HBM Group met with senior executives from 50 of Colombia’s top Multinational corporations, the so called Multilatinas. Together with representatives from the Dutch embassy in Bogota, speakers from the four companies presented the business and technology advantages for using CTEX’s Tier-IV certified datacenters as the region’s newest and most advanced business nexus. The firms presented a powerful business case for international corporations to leverage the CTEX datacenters to host their most critical business systems while at the same time benefiting from Curaćao’s fiscal and legal structures available through CTEX’s EZONE status.
“The combined capability of CTEX, KPMG Meijburg & Co., Van Eps Kunneman and the HBM Group enabled us to present Curaçao as a unique operating destination for the Multilatinas, the fastest growing segment of companies in the region. Curaçao is now home to Latin America and the Caribbean’s most advanced and unique Tier-IV certified datacenter. One of the key factors driving companies to establish multi-jurisdictional operating entities is to safeguard their most critical assets – the business systems and underlying data that enable their operation. If you combine CTEX’s capability with Curaçao’s fiscal and legal structures, then the island is now able to offer a unique value proposition to companies throughout the region and the world. Leveraging Holland’s network of over 95 bilateral investment treaties (BIT) and Curaçao’s neutral position in the region, we are well on our way to establishing a new business and technology hub in the region,” says Anthony de Lima, CTEX’s Chairman & CEO.
Representatives from the four companies together with the Dutch embassy continue their roadshow in Bogota, meeting with senior executives from Colombia’s top companies for one-on-one sessions. These sessions are part of onboarding major international customers at CTEX’s datacenter, which will shortly enter production.
Earlier this summer the Uptime Institute certified CTEX as a Tier-IV datacenter, a unique and rare classification for datacenters across the world. The company also achieved its ISO-9001:2008 certification and obtained its EZONE status from the government of Curaçao.
